'My Family and Other Animals' by Gerald Durrell

Bec's choice.

Generally seemed fairly popular. A number of people had read it as kids and it had strong positive memories.

  • I enjoyed it, while some of the attitudes of the author as a child are today considered not totally environmentally conscious, he clearly displayed a love of the natural world, painted in vivid descriptions.

The family was obviously caricatured to a large degree, but still generally affectionately, even though I suspect I would have kicked Larry half way through some of his instruction sessions.

    Recommended.
